An AI-assisted retinal exam that non-specialists can perform — with screen, voice, and hardware moving as one.
- Sole software designer on an AI-enabled retinal imaging platform. Transitioned a complex workflow completed by ophthalmic specialists into a one-click simple flow.
- Choreographed the exam's motion, voice, and hardware into a trustworthy rhythm — screen animations, voice prompts, and physical device movements timed together so operators and patients could relax into the flow.
- Established and executed end-to-end usability strategy. Designed and ran approximately twenty rounds of iterative studies, culminating in two summative validation studies.
Results
Longitudinal testing over six to eight weeks demonstrated that healthcare providers with no prior ophthalmic training could consistently return to the device and successfully perform retinal imaging. Two summative validation studies completed.
